Dramatist, composer, producer, director, actor, educator and arts advocate, Mavor Moore passionately believed Toronto deserved a performing arts centre. Canada's Centennial in 1967 provided the catalyst for the project to which he devoted years of unstinting effort. The St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts opened in February 1970, thanks to his vision and perseverance.
The citizens of Toronto shall be ever grateful to this Canadian champion of the arts.
