This 1959 plaque erected by the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto is located in Marie Curtis Park in the southwest corner of the city at the mouth of Etobicoke Creek between the creek and the parking lot off 42nd Street. Here's what it says:

Named in honour of Marie Curtis - reeve of Long Branch, to commemorate her outstanding contributions to municipal government in the village of Long Branch and the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto from 1953 to 1962.
