Marie Curtis Park
This 1959 plaque erected by the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto is located in Marie Curtis Park in the south-west corner of the city at the mouth of Etobicoke Creek between the creek and the parking lot off 42nd Street. Here's what it says:
Named in honour of Marie Curtis - reeve of Long Branch, to commemorate her outstanding contributions to municipal government in the village of Long Branch and the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto from 1953 to 1962.
