The Toronto Purchase

This 1988 Etobicoke Historical Board plaque is located in Marie Curtis Park in the south-west corner of the city at the mouth of Etobicoke Creek between the creek and the parking lot off 42nd Street. Here's what it says:

In August, 1788, Alexander Aitkin commenced the survey of the western boundary of the lands purchased from the Mississauga Indians near here, at the mouth of Etobicoke Creek.
